Psalm 18\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Part 1<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Diligam te, Domine.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 I love you, O LORD my<\/span> strength, *<\/span>
\n O LORD my stronghold, my crag, and<\/span> my ha-ven.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 My God, my rock in whom I put my<\/span> trust, *<\/span>
\n my shield, the horn of my salvation, and my refuge; you are wor-thy<\/span> of praise.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 I will call upon the<\/span> LORD, *<\/span>
\n and so shall I be saved from<\/span> my e-nemies.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 The breakers of death rolled o-ver<\/span> me, *<\/span>
\n and the torrents of oblivion made me<\/span> a-fraid.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 The cords of hell entan-gled<\/span> me, *<\/span>
\n and the snares of death were set<\/span> for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 I called upon the LORD in my dis<\/span>-tress *<\/span>
\n and cried out to my God<\/span> for help.<\/span><\/p>\n

7 He heard my voice from his heaven-ly<\/span> dwel-ling; *<\/span>
\n my cry of anguish came to<\/span>\u00a0his ears.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 The earth reeled and<\/span> rocked; *<\/span>
\n the roots of the mountains shook;<\/span>\u00a0they reeled because of<\/span>\u00a0his an-ger.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n9 Smoke rose from his nostrils\u00a0and a consuming fire out of his<\/span>\u00a0mouth; *<\/span><\/span>
\n hot burning coals blazed forth<\/span> from him.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 He parted the heavens and came<\/span> down *<\/span>
\n with a storm cloud un-der<\/span>\u00a0his feet.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 He mounted on cherubim and<\/span> flew; *<\/span>
\n he swooped on the wings of<\/span> the wind.<\/span><\/p>\n

12 She wrapped darkness a<\/span>-bout her; *<\/span>
\n she made dark waters and thick clouds her<\/span>\u00a0pa-vil-ion.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 From the brightness of her presence,\u00a0through the <\/span><\/span>clouds, *
\nburst hailstones and coals<\/span> of fire.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

14 The LORD thundered out of<\/span> hea-ven; *<\/span>
\n the Most High\u00a0uttered<\/span> her voice.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 He loosed his arrows and<\/span> scat-tered them<\/span>; *<\/span>
\nhe hurled thunder-bolts<\/span> and\u00a0rou-ted them<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 The beds of the seas were uncovered,<\/span>\u00a0and the foundations of the world laid<\/span> bare, *<\/span><\/span>
\n at your battle cry, O LORD,<\/span>\u00a0at the blast of the breath of<\/span> your\u00a0no-strils.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

17 He reached down from on high and<\/span> grasped me; *<\/span>
\nhe drew me out of<\/span>\u00a0great wa-ters.<\/span><\/p>\n

18 He delivered me from my strong enemies<\/span>\u00a0and from those who<\/span> hated me<\/span>; *<\/span><\/span>
\n for they were too migh-ty<\/span> for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

19 They confronted me in the day of my di<\/span>-sas-ter; *<\/span>
\n but the LORD was my<\/span> sup-port.<\/span><\/p>\n

20 He brought me out into an o-pen<\/span> place; *<\/span>
\nhe rescued me because he deligh-ted<\/span> in me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly<\/span> Spir-it: *<\/span>
