Psalm 4\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Cum invocarem<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 Answer me when I call, O God, defender of my\u00a0cause<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n you set me free when I am hard-pressed;<\/span>\u00a0have mercy on me and hear\u00a0my<\/span>\u00a0prayer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2 “You mortals, how long will you dishonor my\u00a0glo<\/span>-ry; *<\/span>
\n how long will you worship dumb idols and run after\u00a0false<\/span>\u00a0gods?”<\/span><\/p>\n

3 Know that the LORD does wonders for the\u00a0faith<\/span>-ful; *<\/span>
\n when I call upon the LORD, she\u00a0will<\/span>\u00a0hear me.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 Tremble, then, and do not\u00a0sin<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n speak to your heart in silence upon\u00a0your<\/span>\u00a0bed.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 Offer the appointed\u00a0sacri-fi<\/span><\/span>-ces *<\/span>
\n and put your trust in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0LORD.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 Many are saying, “Oh, that we might see\u00a0better times!”<\/span> *<\/span>
\n Lift up the light of your countenance upon us,\u00a0O<\/span>\u00a0LORD.<\/span><\/p>\n

7 You have put gladness in my\u00a0heart<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n more than when grain and wine and oil\u00a0in<\/span>-crease.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 I lie down in peace; at once I fall a-sleep<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n for only you, LORD, make me dwell\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0safe-ty.<\/span><\/p>\n
