Psalm 2\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Quare fremuerunt gentes?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 Why are the nations in an<\/span> up-roar? *<\/span>
\n Why do the peoples mutter emp-ty<\/span> threats?<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Why do the kings of the earth rise up in revolt,\u00a0and the princes plot to<\/span>-ge-ther, *<\/span>
\n against the LORD and against her\u00a0A<\/span>-noint-ed?<\/span><\/p>\n

3 “Let us break their yoke, “they<\/span> say; *<\/span>
\n “let us cast off their bonds from<\/span> us.”<\/span><\/p>\n

4 She whose throne is in heaven is<\/span> laugh-ing; *<\/span>
\n the Lord has them in de<\/span>-ri-sion.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

5 Then she speaks to them in her<\/span>\u00a0wrath, *<\/span>
\n and her rage fills them with<\/span> ter-ror.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 “I myself have set my<\/span> king *<\/span>
\n upon my holy hill of<\/span> Zi-on.<\/span><\/p>\n

7 Let me announce the decree of the<\/span> LORD: *<\/span>
\n she said to me, “You are my Daughter;\u00a0this day have I be<\/span>-got-ten you<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 Ask of me, and I will give you the nations for your in<\/span>-her-itance *<\/span>
\n and the ends of the earth for your pos<\/span>-ses-sion.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

9 You shall crush them with an iron<\/span> rod *<\/span>
\n and shatter them like a piece of<\/span> pot-tery.”<\/span><\/p>\n

10 And now, you kings, be<\/span> wise; *<\/span>
\n be warned, you rulers of the<\/span> earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 Submit to the LORD with<\/span> fear, *<\/span>
\n and with trembling bow be<\/span>-fore her;<\/span><\/p>\n

12 Lest she be angry and you<\/span> per-ish; *<\/span>
\n for her wrath is quick-ly<\/span> kin-dled.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 Happy are they<\/span> all *<\/span>
\n who take refuge in<\/span> her!<\/span><\/p>\n

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly<\/span> Spir-it: *<\/span>
