Psalm 81<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Exultate Deo<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 Sing with joy to God our<\/span> strength *<\/span>
\n and raise a loud shout to the God of<\/span> Ja-cob.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Raise a song and sound the<\/span> tim-brel, *<\/span>
\n the merry harp, and the<\/span> lyre.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 Blow the ram’s-horn at the<\/span> new moon, *<\/span>
\n and at the full moon, the day of our<\/span> feast.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 For this is a statute for<\/span> Is-rael, *<\/span>
\n a law of the God of<\/span> Ja-cob.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

5 She laid it as a solemn charge up-on<\/span> Jo-seph, *<\/span>
\n when he came out of the land of<\/span> E-gypt.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 I heard an unfamil-iar voice<\/span><\/span> say-ing, *<\/span>
\n “I eased his shoulder from the burden;<\/span>\u00a0his hands were set free from bearing<\/span> the<\/span> load.”<\/span><\/p>\n

7 You called on me in trouble, and I<\/span> saved you; *<\/span>
\n I answered you from the secret place of thunder<\/span>\u00a0and tested you at the waters of<\/span> Mer-ibah.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 Hear, O my people, and I will ad<\/span>-mon-ish you<\/span>: *<\/span>
\n O Israel, if you would but listen to<\/span> me!<\/span><\/p>\n

9 There shall be no strange god a<\/span>-mong you; *<\/span>
\n you shall not worship a for-eign<\/span> god.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 I am the LORD your God,<\/span>\u00a0who brought you out of the land of Egypt and<\/span> said, *<\/span>
\n “Open your mouth wide, and I will<\/span> fill it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

11 And yet my people did not hear my<\/span> voice, *<\/span>
\n and Israel would not o<\/span>-bey me.<\/span><\/p>\n

12 So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their<\/span> hearts, *<\/span>
\n to follow their own de<\/span>-vi-ces.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

13 Oh, that my people would listen to<\/span> me! *<\/span>
\n that Israel would walk in my<\/span> ways!<\/span><\/p>\n

14 I should soon subdue their<\/span> en-emies *<\/span>
\n and turn my hand against their<\/span> foes.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 Those who hate the LORD would cringe be<\/span>-fore her, *<\/span>
\n and their punishment would last for<\/span> ev-er.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 But Israel would I feed with the fin-est<\/span> wheat *<\/span>
\n and satisfy him with honey from the<\/span> rock.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Ho-ly<\/span> Spir-it: *<\/span>
