Psalm 27<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Dominus illuminatio<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear<\/span>? *<\/span>
\n the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be<\/span> a-fraid?<\/span><\/p>\n

2 When evildoers came upon me to eat up my flesh<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n it was they, my foes and my adversaries, who stumbled<\/span> and fell.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 Though an army should encamp a-gainst<\/span> me, *<\/span>
\n yet my heart shall not be<\/span> a-fraid;<\/span><\/p>\n

4 And though war should rise up a-gainst<\/span> me, *<\/span>
\n yet will I put my trust<\/span> in him.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 One thing have I asked of the LORD; one thing I seek<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of<\/span> my life;<\/span><\/p>\n

6 To behold the fair beauty of the LORD<\/span>\u00a0*<\/span>
\n and to seek him\u00a0in<\/span> his tem-ple.<\/span><\/p>\n

7 For in the day of trouble he shall keep me safe in his\u00a0shel<\/span>-ter; *<\/span>
\nhe shall hide me in the secrecy of his dwelling and set me high up-on<\/span> a rock.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 Even now he lifts up my head<\/span>\u00a0*<\/span>
\n above my enemies round<\/span> a-bout me.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 Therefore I will offer in his dwelling an oblation with sounds of great glad<\/span>-ness; *<\/span>
\n I will sing and make music to<\/span> the LORD.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 Hearken to my voice, O LORD, when I call<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n have mercy on me and an<\/span>-swer me.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 You speak in my heart and say, “Seek my face<\/span>.” *<\/span>
\n Your face, LORD, will<\/span> I seek.<\/span><\/p>\n

12 Hide not your face<\/span> from me<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n nor turn away your servant in<\/span> dis-plea-sure.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 You have been my helper; cast me not a-way<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n do not forsake me, O God of my<\/span> sal-va-tion.<\/span><\/p>\n

14 Though my father and my mother for-sake<\/span> me, *<\/span>
\n the LORD will<\/span> sus-tain me.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 Show me your way, O LORD<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n lead me on a level path, because of my<\/span><\/span> e-nemies.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 Deliver me not into the hand of my adver-sar<\/span>-ies, *<\/span>
\n for false witnesses have risen up against me, and also those who<\/span> speak ma-lice.<\/span><\/p>\n

17 What if I had not believed that I should see the goodness of the LORD<\/span> *<\/span>
\n in the land of<\/span> the liv-ing!<\/span><\/p>\n

18 O tarry and await the LORD’S pleasure; be strong, and he shall comfort your heart<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n wait patiently\u00a0for<\/span> the LORD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spir<\/span>-it: *<\/span>
