Psalm 139:1-17, 22-23<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Domine, probasti<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 LORD, you have searched me out and known<\/span> me; *<\/span>
\n you know my sitting down and my rising up;\u00a0you discern my thoughts from a<\/span>-far.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 You trace my journeys and my resting pla<\/span>-ces *<\/span>
\n and are acquainted with all my<\/span> ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 Indeed, there is not a word on my lips<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n but you, O LORD, know it al-to<\/span>-ge-ther.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 You press upon me behind and be-fore<\/span> *<\/span>
\n and lay your hand up<\/span>-on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 Such knowledge is too wonderful for<\/span> me<\/span>;<\/span> *<\/span>
\n it is so high that I cannot at<\/span>-tain to it<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 Where can I go then from your Spir<\/span>-it? *<\/span>
\n where can I flee from your<\/span> pres-ence?<\/span><\/p>\n

7 If I climb up to heaven, you are there<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n if I make the grave my bed, you are there<\/span> a-lso.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 If I take the wings of the morn<\/span>-ing *<\/span>
\n and dwell in the uttermost parts of the<\/span> sea,<\/span><\/p>\n

9 Even there your hand will lead<\/span> me *<\/span>
\n and your right hand hold me<\/span> fast.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 If I say, “Surely the darkness will co<\/span>–ver me<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n and the light around me turn to<\/span> night,”<\/span><\/p>\n

11 Darkness is not dark to you;\u00a0the night is as bright as the day<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n darkness and light to you are both a-like<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

12 For you yourself created my inmost parts<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n you knit me together in my mo-ther’s<\/span> womb.<\/span>

13 I will thank you because I am marvelously made<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n your works are wonderful, and I know it<\/span> well.<\/span><\/p>\n

14 My body was not\u00a0hidden<\/span> from you<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n while I was being made in secret\u00a0and woven in the depths of the<\/span> earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 Your eyes beheld my limbs,\u00a0yet unfinished in the womb;<\/span>
\n all of them were written in your book<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n they were fashioned day by day,\u00a0when as yet there was<\/span> none of them<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 How deep I find your thoughts, O God<\/span>! *<\/span>
\n how great is the<\/span> sum of them<\/span>!<\/span><\/p>\n

17 If I were to count them,\u00a0they would be more in number than the sand<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n to count them all,\u00a0my life span would need to be like<\/span> yours.<\/span><\/p>\n

22 Search me out, O God,\u00a0and know my heart<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n try me and know my rest-less<\/span> thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n

23 Look well whether there be any wickedness<\/span> in me<\/span> *<\/span>
\n and lead me in the way that is ev-er<\/span>-last-ing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spir<\/span>-it: *<\/span>
\n as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. A<\/span>-men.<\/span><\/p>\n
