Psalm 50<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Deus deorum<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 The LORD, the God of gods, has spo<\/span>-ken; *<\/span>
\nshe has called the earth from the rising of the sun to its<\/span> set-ting.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Out of Zion, perfect in its beau<\/span>-ty, *<\/span>
\n God reveals herself in<\/span> glo-ry.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 Our God will come and will not keep si<\/span>-lence; *<\/span>
\n before her there is a consuming flame,<\/span>\u00a0and round about her a rag-ing<\/span> storm.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 She calls the heavens and the earth from a-bove<\/span>\u00a0*<\/span>
\n to witness the judgment of her<\/span>\u00a0peo-ple.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

5 “Gather before me my loyal fol<\/span>-lowers, *<\/span>
\n those who have made a covenant with me<\/span>\u00a0and sealed it with<\/span> sac-rifice.”<\/span><\/p>\n

6 Let the heavens declare the rightness of her\u00a0cause<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n for God herself is<\/span> judge.<\/span><\/p>\n

7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak:<\/span>\u00a0“O Israel, I will bear witness a-gainst<\/span> you; *<\/span>
\n for I am God, your<\/span> God.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 I do not accuse you because of your sa<\/span>-crifices; *<\/span>
\n your offerings are always be<\/span>-fore me.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 I will take no bull-calf from your stalls<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n nor he-goats out of your<\/span> pens;<\/span><\/p>\n

10 For all the beasts of the forest are mine<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n the herds in their thousands upon the<\/span> hills.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 I know every bird in the sky<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n and the creatures of the fields are in my<\/span> sight.<\/span><\/p>\n

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell<\/span> you, *<\/span>
\n for the whole world is mine and all that is<\/span> in it.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 Do you think I eat the flesh of bulls<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n or drink the blood of<\/span> goats?<\/span><\/p>\n

14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanks-giv<\/span>-ing *<\/span>
\n and make good your vows to the Most<\/u><\/span>\u00a0High.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 Call upon me in the day of trou<\/span>-ble; *<\/span>
\n I will deliver you, and you shall<\/span> ho-nor me<\/span>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

16 But to the wicked God says<\/span>: *<\/span>
\n “Why do you recite my<\/span> sta-tutes,<\/span>
\n\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

17 Since you refuse dis<\/span>-cipline, *<\/span>
\n and toss my words behind your<\/span> back?<\/span><\/p>\n

18 When you see a thief,<\/span>\u00a0you make her your friend<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n and you cast in your lot with a<\/span>-dult-erers.<\/span><\/p>\n

19 You have loosed your lips for ev<\/span>-il, *<\/span>
\n and harnessed your tongue to a<\/span> lie.<\/span><\/p>\n

20 You are always speaking evil of your sis<\/span>-ter *<\/span>
\n and slandering your own mo-ther’s<\/span>\u00a0child.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chant<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

21 These things you have done, and I kept still<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n and you thought that I am<\/span> like you.”<\/span><\/p>\n

22 “I have made my accu-sa<\/span>-tion; *<\/span>
\n I have put my case in order before your<\/span> eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

23 Consider this well, you who forget God<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n lest I rend you and there be none to de<\/span>-liv-er you<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

24 Whoever offers me the sacrifice of thanksgiving ho<\/span>–nors me<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n but to those who keep in my way will I show the salvation of<\/span> God.”<\/span><\/p>\n
