Psalm 42<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Quemadmodum<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1 As the deer longs for the wa<\/span>-terbrooks, *<\/span>
\n so longs my soul for you, O<\/span> God.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 My soul is athirst for God, athirst for the living God<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n when shall I come to appear before the presence of<\/span> God?<\/span><\/p>\n

3 My tears have been my food day and night<\/span>, *<\/span>
\n while all day long they say to me, “Where now is your<\/span> God?”<\/span><\/p>\n

4 I pour out my soul when I think on these things<\/u><\/span>; *<\/span>
\n how I went with the multitude and led them into the house of<\/span> God,<\/span><\/p>\n

5 With the voice of praise and thanks-gi<\/span>-ving, *<\/span>
\n among those who keep<\/span> ho-lyday.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 Why are you so full of heaviness, O my soul<\/span>? *<\/span>
\n and why are you so disquieted with<\/span>-in me?<\/span><\/p>\n

7 Put your trust in God<\/span>; *<\/span>
\n for I will yet give thanks to her,<\/span>\u00a0who is the help of my countenance, and my<\/span> God.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 My soul is heavy with-in<\/span> me;\u00a0*<\/span>
\n therefore I will remember you from the land of Jordan,\u00a0<\/span>and from the peak of Mizar among the heights of<\/span> Her-mon.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 One deep calls to another in the noise of your cat<\/span>-aracts; *<\/span>
\n all your rapids and floods have gone<\/span> o-ver me<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 The LORD grants her lovingkindness in the day<\/span>-time; *<\/span>
\n in the night season her song is with me,<\/span>\u00a0a prayer to the God of my<\/u><\/span> life.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 I will say to the God of my strength,<\/span>\u00a0“Why have you for-got<\/span>–ten me<\/span>? *<\/span>
\n and why do I go so heavily while the enemy op<\/span>-pres-ses me<\/span>?”<\/span><\/p>\n

12 While my bones are being bro<\/span>-ken, *<\/span>
\n my enemies mock me to my<\/span> face.;<\/span><\/p>\n

13 All day long they mock<\/span> me *<\/span>
